The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Entrance University of Health Sciences (EUHS) successfully hosted its SRC Week 2026, marked by a series of insightful, engaging, and community-driven activities. The week-long celebration was held under the theme: “Aligning Professional Competence, Community Health, and Student Synergy.”
Delivering a keynote address at the launch, the Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Pharm. Joseph Kodjo Nsiah Nyoagbe, challenged students to prioritise professional excellence over outward appearances. Drawing from his regulatory experience, he noted that the true measure of a healthcare professional lies not in infrastructure or visibility, but in discipline, attention to detail, and ethical responsibility. He emphasised the importance of diligence in practice, patient-centred care, and the humility to seek knowledge when uncertain, rather than making uninformed decisions.
He further encouraged students to focus on mastering their craft rather than being driven by titles, stressing that while titles may bring recognition, it is competence that ultimately saves lives. Highlighting the collaborative nature of healthcare, he underscored the importance of teamwork across disciplines, cautioning that individual brilliance without cooperation can undermine patient outcomes. He concluded by urging students to embody the interconnected values of competence, community service, and synergy, describing them as a unified commitment rather than separate ideals.
The Chaplain of Tobinco Group of Companies also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to prioritise their mental well-being. He advised them to seek counselling and support when faced with academic or personal pressures, reinforcing the importance of emotional resilience in their professional journey.
The Head of Public Relations for EUHS, Miss Victoria Osei Prempeh, highlighted the need for students to balance celebration with responsibility. She described SRC Week as more than a social occasion, noting that it serves as a platform for leadership development, creativity, unity, and personal growth.
Adding to the call for active participation, the Assistant Registrar, Miss Anita Kwarteng, encouraged students to fully engage in the week’s activities and embrace the vibrant campus experience.
As part of its community impact initiatives, students undertook outreach activities including the donation of sanitary pads and sexual health education for pupils of Martey Tsuru Presby Primary and Junior High School. In further demonstration of their commitment to public health, the SRC also organised a blood donation exercise in support of the National Blood Bank, as well as a health screening exercise for residents within and around the university community.
The week also featured a financial literacy session, inter-school debates, and a cooking competition, all designed to promote holistic student development.
A major highlight of the celebrations was the inter-school sporting event, the Chancellor’s Cup. Speaking at the kickoff, the Registrar of EUHS, Mr. Samuel Apeawin, commended the high level of organisation and student participation. He advocated for the regular organisation of such activities, noting their role in fostering unity and strengthening campus life. He further emphasised that university education should nurture students intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally, urging participants to celebrate responsibly while upholding the institution’s reputation.
The SRC President, Michael Adade, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to student welfare, inclusivity, and development. He reiterated that every student should be given the opportunity to thrive and have their voice heard within the university community.
The week-long celebration concluded with a Dinner and Awards Night, where outstanding students were recognised for their excellence, leadership, and contributions to campus life.
SRC Week 2026 once again demonstrated EUHS’ commitment to developing well-rounded health professionals equipped with the competence, compassion, and collaborative spirit needed to serve society.
