Debaters from Entrance University of Health Sciences (EUHS) delivered an outstanding performance over the weekend, emerging winners in a highly competitive national debate competition organised by the Foundation for Generational Thinkers (FOGET).
Showcasing exceptional confidence, critical thinking, and eloquence, the EUHS team came out on top in a gripping final clash against Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Arguing against the motion “Everything in Ghana rises and falls on leadership,” the team presented compelling and thought-provoking insights, highlighting practical measures to strengthen institutions and reduce over-reliance on individual leaders.
The competition, which marked FOGET’s maiden edition, brought together some of the brightest student debaters from leading universities across Ghana, including the University of Ghana, University of Health and Allied Sciences, University of Mines and Technology, University of Professional Studies, Accra Technical University, KNUST, and the University of Cape Coast.
EUHS debaters demonstrated resilience and intellectual depth as they progressed through the gruelling preliminary stages to reach the finals. Each round featured motions carefully crafted to challenge contestants and draw out their perspectives on leadership and governance. In the final round, participants were tasked not only to argue their positions but also to propose practical solutions aligned with their stance—an area where the EUHS team excelled remarkably.
Their victory stands as a testament to the University’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded students equipped with strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
FOGET, a non-profit organisation, is dedicated to raising transformational leaders with generational influence. Through initiatives such as this debate competition, the organisation provides leadership development and mentorship opportunities for young people across the country.
EUHS celebrates this remarkable achievement and commends the team for their brilliance, discipline, and outstanding oratory skills, which continue to bring pride to the University community.
